Elizabeth McGlynn
Executive Director
Elizabeth McGlynn is the current Executive Director of Girls on the Run of Montgomery County. Before joining GOTR, Elizabeth was the Executive Director of The Professional Health & Fitness Institute, a physical therapy continuing education company, a position she held from 2000 to 2009. Prior to that, Elizabeth was the Executive Director for Cutting Edge Orthopedic, where she served from 1996 to 2000. In both roles, Elizabeth operated and expanded very successful programs and developed a broad base of skills and contacts that will serve her well in this position.
Elizabeth received a BS in Marketing from Clemson University and a Masters of Science in Community Health Education from Old Dominion University. She lives in Bethesda, MD with her husband and four children. Elizabeth has been running since the 3rd grade and competes in various races throughout the DC area.
David Mills
Chairman of the Board
David Mills has been involved with Girls of the Run of Montgomery County since its inception, helping to establish the non-profit and working with the other board members to develop its mission and strategic plan. He has worked to build the organization as a board member since the beginning and currently serves as its chairman. He is convinced, having two daughters who have experienced the GOTR program (and a son who often joins in the 5K Fun Run), that the program is a wonderful way to build confidence, expand social awareness and encourage commitment to community.
David is a senior partner at the law firm Dow Lohnes, PLLC, and has served on its board of directors for many years. He formerly served as a federal prosecutor in the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. His current practice involves litigation, appellate practice and government investigations, and he is involved in recruiting and firm management. David also serves on a board at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and volunteers for other non-profits as well.
David earned his undergraduate degree in politics at Brandeis University, and earned his law degree at Duke University Law School.
Jennifer Gill
Secretary of the Board of Directors
Jennifer Gill has been involved with GOTRMoCo since its beginning in 2006. In addition to her role as Secretary on the Board of Directors, Jennifer also serves on the Programming Committee. Jennifer has served as Program Director for the organization from 2006-2007, Race Director for the Spring and Fall 2007 races and coach at Germantown Elementary and Ronald McNair Elementary. Jennifer also served as Acting Executive Director for the organization in early 2009.
Jennifer grew up on New York’s Long Island. She earned a BS in Microbiology from Arizona State University. Missing the East Coast, she transplanted to the DC-area after college and, after years of doing laboratory research with The Institute for Genomic Research and the American Red Cross, she left the lab forever to pursue a Masters of Public Health from George Washington University. Currently, Jennifer writes publications in the areas of nutrition and physical activity for a health information service from the National Institutes of Health. As a certified running coach, Jennifer also coaches individual clients and groups, and serves as the Head Coach and Running Group Coordinator for Fleet Feet Sports in Gaithersburg.
Eve Mills
Race Director
Eve Mills first experienced GOTR as a coach in Fairfax County VA and was surprised not to find the program in Montgomery County MD when her family moved across the river in 2005. So, she formed Girls on the Run of Montgomery County and served as its first Executive Director. She has coached a local group of girls ever since and currently serves on the board of directors and as the Race Director.
Eve currently works as Director of Membership and Program Services for the Road Runners Club of America. A recreational runner for 20 years, with a few road races under her belt, it wasn’t until she started GOTR-MOCO that she decided to run a marathon and developed a passion for true distance running. She has now completed numerous marathons, including Boston, Chicago, New York, and Sarasota (first place, 2007 Masters Division).
Eve is an RRCA Certified Coach and volunteers with the Experienced Marathon Program of the Montgomery County Road Runners Club. She also coaches novice distance runners and kids. Eve has a degree in finance from the University of Massachusetts, a Masters in Taxation from George Washington University, and is a CPA in the State of Maryland. She and her husband currently run after their three children in Bethesda, MD.
Connie Corbett
Marketing Committee Chairperson
Connie Corbett has been a GOTR coach for Ronald McNair Elementary School in Germantown since September 2007. In addition to serving as a Board member, Connie serves as the Marketing Committee Chairperson.
Connie brings a great deal of experience from the world of marketing. Since 1994, she has worked for the National Education Association’s Member Benefits Corporation where she has helped transform their mass marketing efforts into a data-driven customer relationship . Prior to 1994, she contracted with various beltway bandit corporations to provide project management services. Born and raised in Montana, Connie relocated to the DC-area after joining the U.S. Army in the early 80’s. She served a long career with the military, retiring in 2005 as Sergeant Major.
Connie received a BS in Information Management and a MBA, both from University of Maryland. She is both a distance running enthusiast and an RRCA-certified running coach. She lives in Germantown, MD with her husband and youngest daughter, who both often join Connie in various races.
