GOTR Spring 2008 Registration Details

Online Fall Registration has ended for Fall 2008.

Our next season will be Spring 2009.

 

Our Registration Process

 

Step One:

View GOTR's Fee Scale (See Right) to determine the amount you should pay to enroll in the program.

 

Step Two:

Fill out the Online Registration Form to register on your computer. After you have filled out the registration form and pressed "submit", you will be taken to a page where you can choose your payment option. If you choose to pay by credit card, click on the button that represents your fee, and pay securely with credit card or PayPal.

OR

Fill out the Mail-in Print Registration Form to print and mail your registration with a check enclosed.

 

Step Three:

One of our staff members will contact you shortly about your application status. Get ready to run!

 

Procedures for the GOTR 2008

 

This is a popular program, and we have taken care to institute the following procedures to ensure fairness for all:

  • Once you've applied, one of our staff members will contact you to let you know your application status (confirmed, wait-listed, etc.).
    • If your participation is confirmed, we will provide payment instructions.
    • If space is full for your preferred site, you will be on a wait list and offered a spot in the event of a cancellation.
  • Priority registration is offered to returning participants, and to girls of participating coaches.
  • There is a 24-hour priority registration period for (a) girls who attend the school hosting the program and (b) girls wait-listed prior to the Spring session.
  • Thereafter, registration is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Each program requires a minimum of 8 participants per site and is limited to a maximum of 15. No new registrations will be accepted after the 4th lesson of the program, and payment is expected by this time as well.
  • Girls on the Run held at public schools will not be held on days that Montgomery County public schools are not in session or on early release days.

Fee Information and Scholarships

Our current fee per session is based on household income. It ranges from $10-$150 per girl. This fee scale is currently based upon an honor system, with the girl’s family selecting the fee appropriate for their income level for payment. Full scholarships may be offered upon application to GOTR of Montgomery County, Inc.

Direct costs included in the fee price are:

  • The 18 lessons conducted by a certified GOTR coach;
  • End of lesson snacks;
  • Lesson handouts and materials;
  • A GOTR practice t-shirt, race t-shirt, and water bottle;
  • Entrance fee for end of season community 5K race chosen by GOTR of Montgomery County;
  • End of season award.

Indirect costs included in the fee price are:GOTR girls at the Spring 2007 5K

  • Costs associated with staff and coach training, and coaches materials,
  • Fees paid to GOTR International,
  • CPR certification and criminal background check,
  • Classroom rental fees, and commercial insurance,
  • Web site development and maintenance.

Fees are established based on household income. No participant will be turned away for financial reasons. See fee scale chart above:

 

Refund Information: Girls the Run of Montgomery County will refund 50% of the registration fee if requested in writing prior to the 4th lesson of a Girls on the Run of Montgomery County program. No refunds will be issued for any terminations after the 4th lesson except in the event that an unforeseen illness or health issue arises after the 4th lesson. Such instances will be handled on a case by case basis and discussion and review will be held prior to refunding 50% of the registration fee. If a site is canceled due to insufficient registration or other circumstances deemed appropriate by the Executive Director, the full registration fee will be refunded.

 

New Balance offers Scholarship Shoes to GOTRScholarship Shoe Program: New Balance, one of our corporate sponsors, also helps us to provide free running shoes to those whose financial situations make buying appropriate shoes difficult. Girls on Track Registration
